Rings & free forms
GLDF Generator
Turns individual segment LDTs into one continuous luminaire outline – a ring, a straight line, or a free-form path – including the 3D geometry as a GLDF file.
How it works
From segment to full outline
The GLDF Generator assembles individual segment LDT files into one continuous outline – as a closed ring, a straight line, or along a freely defined path. The number of segments is automatically matched to the target diameter, and the curve angle per segment is derived directly from the arc length.
Alongside the photometric data, the generator also produces the matching 3D geometry as an L3D file and packages both together into a GLDF file – the open manufacturer format for digital luminaire models.

In detail
What the GLDF Generator handles
- Three construction types: ring (curve), straight line, or free path.
- Segment count is automatically matched to the target diameter.
- Curve angle per segment is calculated directly from the arc length.
- Output as a GLDF file including L3D geometry.
